Arflex Tokio T21 Curved Sofa

The Tokio T21 Curved Sofa is a sculptural modular seating system from Italian manufacturer Arflex, designed by Stockholm studio Claesson Koivisto Rune. Its rounded silhouette and raised base create a floating effect — the sofa appears to hover just above the floor, giving rooms an immediate sense of lightness and architectural intention. Composed of separate curved units that can be arranged as desired, the T21 adapts to both compact apartments and expansive living spaces. This configuration includes two armless curved isle sofas (model 4207) and one large armless curved sofa (model 4204), forming a generous curved sectional that seats four to five comfortably. Each unit is densely padded for a soft yet supportive seat, with fully removable covers for easy cleaning and polypropylene glides to protect flooring. The sofa is upholstered in Laila 103 — a refined fabric in a warm neutral tone that sits comfortably alongside cream walls, natural wood, and brass or bronze accents. The fabric is machine washable on a delicate cycle at 30°C, making it practical for everyday living despite its luxury positioning. Designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune — the award-winning Swedish architecture and design practice behind some of Arflex's most celebrated pieces — the Tokio collection brings Scandinavian restraint to Italian craftsmanship. The result is furniture that feels both substantial and weightless, formal and inviting. Made to order in Italy with a 10–12 week lead time. This piece is featured in the Hyde Park Residence project at DUKE OF DESIGN, where it anchors the principal living room alongside a marble coffee table and brass accents.
